First clarinetist of the Orchestre de Paris since 1995, having been a soloist with the Orchestre de Bretagne and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France, Philippe Berrod is regularly invited to the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Bayrische Rundfunk in Munich, and also the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.

1st prize unanimously awarded at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris in 1987, he has won many international competitions (Paris, Vierzon, Reims, Trapani, Menuhin Foundation, the Ministry of Culture Prize and the SACEM award).

For the Crystal Records label, he produced an ambitious project over several years: 3 educational CD-Roms with no less than 210 pieces with pianist Nicolas Dessenne.

Under the same label, he recorded three CDs around the clarinet, the first of this collection Clarinet Latino (released in April 2011) was immediately acclaimed by the media as well as by journalists Frederick Lodéon and Lionel Esparza (Radio France) and Christian Morin (Radio Classique).

Philippe Berrod has been an artistic consultant since 2010 to the French manufacturer of wind instruments Henri Selmer-Paris.
